Choosing Football Party Decorations

November 16th, 2011

Throwing together a party can be a stressful ordeal, especially if its centered around the Big Game in February. If your home is going to be flooded by gridiron fanatics, you may feel compelled to stock up on football party decorations, but all you really need to do is make the right food and buy the right booze. The game is the center event and you really only need to provide the proper periphery.

That isn’t to say doing some basic decorating won’t liven things up a bit. Your guests will appreciate a little color here and there, especially if it is the same ones of the teams playing in the game. Even if you throw in some hues from the regional squads, you will put smiles on faces. But don’t spend too much money on décor considering you will hardly have an opportunity to ever use it again.

The areas to focus on are food and beverages. Much of your supplies will be ready-made and bought from the grocery store like chips, dips and eating accessories. Instead of focusing on inventive cuisines and elaborate cocktails, just run down to the supermarket and grab sweets and beer. You only really need to provide finger foods, and your budget will determine just how much is appropriate.

For what you can’t afford to buy in bulk you can probably make yourself for much less money. Wings, for example, are far cheaper to make than to buy, and they’ll be a huge hit for the beer-swigging fans guaranteed to be in attendance. The internet is full of fun and easy recipes that will be a hit, and you will also find a great deal of unique ideas to accommodate younger people.
